Setup & Configuration

1. Generate Your Guild Wars 2 API Key

API keys are a way to grant third-party tools and applications partial read-only access to your Guild Wars 2 account. To use them, create a key, then copy and paste it into the field provided by the third-party tool or application. Each key is granted a fixed set of permissions that limit what third-party tools can access, and you can delete a key at any time to revoke the permissions granted.

Open ArenaNet Applications

Make sure to check the following permissions when registering your key (hover to view descriptions):

Account
Inventories
Characters
Tradingpost
Wallet
Unlocks
PvP
WvW
Builds
Progression
Guilds

2. Add your API Keys

Launch Tyrian Lens on your PC. Locate the API Keys icon from the navigation bar. Paste the generated key into the text box. Give it a nickname (optional) and click "Add Account". Tyrian Lens will instantly establish contact with ArenaNet services to load your data.

3. Adjust Settings

Change the various settings in the app to your liking.

4. Real-time Farming Tracker (DRF Integration)

What is DRF? Drop Research Facilities (DRF) is an incredibly handy tool that lets you track and collect your in-game loot drops in real-time directly from your Guild Wars 2 client. Because it captures events instantly, you don't have to wait for the Guild Wars 2 API to update to see your session progress. DRF is integrated into Tyrian Lens so you can watch live session statistics and farming metrics update the second you loot an item.

How does it work? By installing a small lightweight addon into your game, loot events are securely sent to the DRF servers. When you run Tyrian Lens, we connect to this stream via a websocket, giving you instant live updates right in your dashboard.

Addon Installation

To run the DRF addon, you need a loader. The two standard methods are using ArcDPS or the GW2 Addon Manager (Gw2Al). If you are already using the Addon Manager for other plugins, you already have Gw2Al installed.

Locating Your Guild Wars 2 Install Directory:

  • Default Launcher: C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2
  • Steam: Right-click Guild Wars 2 in Steam → ManageBrowse local files
Option A: ArcDPS Method

Ideal if you are already using ArcDPS for combat metrics.

  1. Place the downloaded DRF DLL file into the same directory where ArcDPS is installed.
  2. This is typically directly in your main game folder (e.g. <GW2 Root>/d3d11.dll) or under the addons directory (e.g. <GW2 Root>/addons/arcdps/gw2addon_arcdps.dll).
  3. Restart Guild Wars 2 to load the addon.
Option B: Gw2Al (Addon Manager) Method

Ideal if you manage your addons through the GW2 Addon Manager.

  1. Navigate to your <GW2 Root>/addons/ folder.
  2. Create a new folder named exactly drf.
  3. Move the downloaded DLL file into this new folder.
  4. Rename the file to gw2addon_drf.dll. (Note: If file extensions are hidden on your system, just name it gw2addon_drf).
  5. Restart Guild Wars 2 to load the addon.

Linking Your Token & Usage

  1. Head over to the DRF website, log in, and copy your personal security token.
  2. Open Tyrian Lens, open the API Keys menu, paste your token in the DRF Token field, and save.
  3. Head back to the Farming Tracker, start a session and pick up loot! You will see inventory changes register instantly in the tracker.
